As we are all experiencing in our personal and professional lives, the impact of this long-term COVID 19 closure continues to cancel or postpone most Texas community events. The Red River Trail Run has not been excluded from this widespread impact. To prioritize the health and safety of the trail running community, the North Texas Trail Runners and Red River Dirt Riders nonprofits have made the tough decision to cancel the 2020 Red River Trail Run.
We’d like to offer participants the chance to support Abigail’s Arms by donating their entry fee. Unless otherwise requested by email (by Sunday, September 13th) all other participants will automatically be refunded, less UltraSignup fees. If you had registered more than 90 days prior to the refund, we’ll need to process an alternative refund form.
All profits of the Red River Trail Run will again benefit Abigail’s Arms Cooke County Family Crisis Center whose mission is to embrace children, individuals and families to inspire change and create stronger, safer communities through education and awareness. The focus of this benefit will be the services provided for children who are victims of crime. Thanks to the participants and sponsors, we've been able to donate $7000 to Abigail's Arms.

The trail system that the race is held is on dirt trails, which vary in condition from flatter, smooth "runnable" sections to more technical areas with rocks and roots with steeper hills. Please see the video below for a general idea of the terrain
A cup-less race means that there will be no paper water cups between the start and the finish line like you’d typically see at road races.
Please bring a bottle/bladder or purchase a NTTR collapsible cup onsite for $5 and we will refill them at the aid stations.

The mission of the North Texas Trail Runners is the promotion and encouragement of long distance trail running and the education of the public to its benefits. NTTR is about fun, fellowship, and supporting each other!
NTTR is very active in the local trail running community. We continue to hold monthly "trail rodeos" as well as supporting local trail maintenance. We have amazing volunteers that help with local races. We've donated to each the following local, trail-run supporting organizations: Back on My Feet Dallas, Friends of the Grasslands, GallantFew and Town North Optimist Foundation.
The organizational meeting of North Texas Trail Runners was held at the Irving, Texas home of Fred Holmes, club organizer and first president, on April 18, 1996. On the agenda was planning of the inaugural Rockledge Rumble 50k.
